Bridges expand and contract due to several reasons, including temperature changes, shrinkage of the concrete, settlement, ice, and even the weight of vehicles. Bridge expansion joints are structural elements that allow the superstructure to naturally expand and contract without cracking Arfen is one of few companies that can design and manufacture any type of bridge expansion joints from Steel, Rubber, and Aluminum under European norms, AASHTO, or national specifications. Single Seal, Modular Type, Rubber Type, Finger Type, and Aluminium Type Bridge Expansion Joints are among the common types widely being used. Arfen production is continuously controlled and examined by the quality team.
Rubber Bridge Expansion Joints
Rubber Bridge Expansion Joints
These systems are formed by joining rubber elements and steel plates under high temperature and pressure in our factory. Strengthening plates made of steel are vulcanized with rubber material to form a composite and load-resistant system.
Aluminum Expansion Joints
Aluminum Expansion Joints
These expansion joints are equipped with surface gutters that allow for convenient water drainage. With its special design, it provides little noise when passing over vehicles. The edge profiler is manufactured from specially drawn aluminium and carries heavy traffic loads. Profiles have a yield strength of 275 MPa and a tensile strength of 300 MPa.
Modular Expansion Joints
Modular Expansion Joints
Each of our expansion joints is subjected to static calculations based on the EN and AASHTO H30-S24 load standards. Also used steel and rubber material are produced according to EN standards. Modular joints are produced accordance to ISO 9001.
